I want group I am overseeing to evaluate themselves and to access the summarised results.
How do I go about this?
Co-ordinators for groups of practitioners, such as Early Language Consultants, SENCO’s, people delivering training and setting managers may wish to get a report of the results of practitioners’ self-evaluations for a whole group. This will allow the co-ordinator to understand the group’s CPD needs, and identify CPD priorities for that group as a whole. Here are the steps needed to get a group report: 1. Get a group report number
First of all the co-ordinator needs a group number.
If the whole cohort works within the same educational setting, this group number will simply be the DCSF number of that setting. DCSF numbers are in the format XXX/YYYY.
If this is not the case, the co-ordinator will need to get a group number from the Talking Point web team. They should contact the Talking Point administrator, who will supply a group number.
Telephone: 0845 225 4073
Co-ordinators will need to supply their contact details and an identifiable name for the group. E.g. “Acton foster carers”. Only one group number can be assigned per co-ordinator.
Once the co-ordinator has entered their assigned group number into the relevant field in their Help Point profile, they should send an email to the Talking Point email address above, stating their name, username and email address. They will then be given specific permission to access their group's report when they log on.2. Completing the self-evaluations
The co-ordinator should now ask all individuals in the cohort to create a personal profile on Communication Help Point http://www.communicationhelppoint.org.uk/
When the individuals create a profile, they must enter their group number into the correct field on the profile, which is labelled DCSF/group number. The members of the cohort should now complete their self- evaluation. It is likely they will select the stage of the SLCF in discussion with their co-ordinator. At the end of this process, individual members of the cohort will be able to view their own learning profile, and find ways to develop their knowledge and skills in areas that they are not fully confident. 3. Getting the group report
If the co-ordinator logs in themselves, they will see a link on the left hand side titled Group Report. If they click on this, they will see the results of the assessments for Universal, Strand A. The co-ordinator can change the drop down boxes to select other levels and strands.
If some members of staff do not appear, ask them to log in and ensure they have entered their group number correctly
, and in the exact format given.
Any questions throughout the process should be directed to the Talking Point administrator, details above.
