Course description
Somerset Total Communication Schools Induction Training delivers a combination of theory on Speech, Language & Communication Need (SLCN) and practical strategies to support children/young people with SLCN. Participants also learn specific skills such as the signing of key words and use of visual coding including symbols.
Coursework encourages participants to transfer learning into practice. Participants have the option of undertaking an assessment to demonstrate their knowledge and skills. This includes discussing and showing how they have implemented STC into their practice.
Training is open to parents, carers and members of the wider community such as the police and leisure centre staff as well as all school staff and Governors
