Course description
Signalong is a sign supporting communication system and the central aim of all Signalong courses is to develop people’s signing and communication skills.
At the heart of Signalong’s philosophy and approach is the belief that communication with people who have learning disabilities and autism should be led by each individual’s needs and desires, and firmly focused on their real, every day experiences.
Signalong’s unique methodology trains people in signing skills rather than simply teaching large vocabularies of signs that may be irrelevant and therefore rarely used and quickly forgotten. In this way Signalong equips its users to access any sign that may be required by the people with whom they live or work.
This 20-hour course is for holders of the level 1 certificate to gain the level 2 qualification.
