Course description
Two sessions to provide staff in EY settings with info related to the normal development of speech, language and communication, identifying children with language needs.
Suitable for: Teachers, all early years staff.Aims and objectives
To provide staff with info on normal development of SLC from pregnancy to reception. To provide workshop experiences to highlight developmental processes and to experience practical strategies to be used in settings to promote conversation for all children. To identify common difficulties in SLC. To establish joint working between settings and SLT.
A foundation of knowledge of normal and atypical SLC development. To be clear on how families can access SLT, supporting early identification of difficulties. To receive a pack of resources, references and contacts to support practitioners.
