Question

How are courses mapped?

Answer

We need to map training against the SLCF in order for it to be signposted. Mapping is quite a complicated process, which has involved a group of SLT and education professionals looking at content, learning outcomes, materials and activities for each training programme. We then identify skills and knowledge, set out in the SLCF which we think the training may help develop. It is not possible to say that if you do a training course, you will automatically 'achieve' the competences - participants need to be able to put these skills and knowledge into practice.
