I can’t afford training, are there other things I can do to develop my skills?

The Speech, Language and Communication Framework will help you identify the skills and knowledge that you need to develop to help you further in your work with children and young people. However, you do not necessarily need to go on specific training to develop such skills and knowledge - the framework signposts you to a range of wider professional development activities. This signposting will provide ideas that support the development and transfer of skills in practice in the workplace, as well as highlighting relevant web links and other information sources.
